oUR uNIQUE AND pROVEN PROCESS
sTEP 1: wASH tHE DOORS*
Your doors start off in our factory. After we remove them, it is important to have all the doors washed to make sure that all the grease and gunk is out of the wood.
We use a special chemical to do so, this makes sure that anything trapped inside the wood will be cleaned and the primer and paint can stick to the door properly.
sTEP 2: Sand and Prep*
Once All the grease is out, the door gets sanded and prepped for primer. This is a very important step, because if the door is not sanded enough, the primer and paint will not stick properly.
If the door is sended too much then it will create a rough and not good looking paint finish. Our uniqe process makes sure that we send the door perfect before applying the primer
sTEP 3: Primer First Coat*
Next step, We apply a high adhesion primer. Its an oil-based primer that helps everything stick to it. The primer penetrates the wood, allowing for maximum penetration and a long lasting glue like effect.
After the primer is applied and is dry, the door gets sanded and washed again, and is prepped for the second coat of primer.
sTEP 4: Primer Second coat*
Now its time for the second coat of primer. This primer is called a blocking primer, it is specifically made for the wood not to bleed through the paint.
Its very common for refinishers to not apply this second coat of primer and that is why sometimes the doors can have a yellowish tint after months or years of paint.
Its a chance some take but we always us this second coat of primer to make sure that all the doors are done to perfection.
sTEP 5: First Layer of Paint And Sealer*
Now comes the fun part. After the door is sanded from the second coat of primer, we apply a special blend of paint and sealer. This allows us to take all the work that we have done is permanently covered by a durable first layer of paint tinted to the color of your choice.
After this is done the door gets one last sanding for the last and final coat of paint. available in 1000’s of color options
sTEP 6: Final Coat Of Paint*
This is by far the best part of the journey. We apply a final coat of paint to the doors, and let them cook in special room with UV lights. This permanently seals all the layers of primer and paint and the doors are ready to go.
We use a wide variety of paints and primers the most common is a paint called Renner Wood Coatings. But because all doors are different we sometimes may adjust our process accordingly.
